Chapel of Saint Sixtus

A Romanesque chapel in the heart of Eygalières

Located in d’Eygalières, Bouches-du-Rhône (13). The Saint-Sixte chapel stands on the outskirts of the village. This building was constructed in the 12th century. The Saint-Sixte chapel has been listed as a historic monument since July 15, 1971. This well-known chapel is a real symbol of Provence, and has often been sketched by painters and photographers. Even today, a pilgrimage is held on Easter Tuesday in honor of Pope Saint Sixtus.
