The Daudet mill in Fontvieille<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Located in the small town of Fontvieille in the Bouches du Rh\u00f4ne d\u00e9partement (13), just 20 minutes from the Mas de Nicolas campsite. Alphonse Daudet’s mill is an integral part of the town’s heritage. A true symbol of writer and journalist Alphonse Daudet, the mill is open to visitors all year round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mill was built in 1814 and operated for a century. It ceased to operate in 1915, when the wheat and the men who worked at the mill were requisitioned during the First World War.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An ideal place for a family outing, the 30-minute walk from the Fontvieille tourist office to the Ch\u00e2teau de Montauban takes you along Alphonse Daudet’s Mill Trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
